National Audit Office provides an updated statistical analysis of the COVID-19 consequences management
The auditors of the National Audit Office COVID Working Group continue to collect data and analyse the implementation of the measures approved by the Government to maintain liquidity for enterprises and promote the economy affected by the pandemic, and provide the third statistical analysis of the COVID-19 consequences management.
Statistical analysis of COVID-19 consequences management revealed that some more than EUR 3,207 million was used to reduce the effects of the pandemic in 2020. Of these, 46 % was used for aid measures for economic operators affected by the pandemic. The largest part of the aid funds were allocated to subsidies (almost EUR 935 million) and deferral of contributions and taxes (a little more than EUR 869 million). 57 thousand beneficiaries have benefited from State aid. Looking at the beneficiaries according to their fields of activity, it is noted that most of the money was spent on companies engaged in the wholesale and retail trade and in the repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles.
